The majority of road traffic deaths and injuries affect people in low and middle-income countries – where roads are often in poor repair usually as a result of decades of under-investment. Simple low-cost engineering measures have already avoided needless deaths and injuries, and their use could be extended still further. This panel will review promising applications and the policies required to support their introduction.
